Explore the beauty of birds and nature through my lens.
I am a photographer driven by curiosity, adventure, and a growing fascination with the natural world.
Growing up in South Africa, I was fortunate to live relatively close to Kruger National Park. Ironically, I never fully appreciated what that meant at the time. I didn’t spend my childhood visiting the park or going on regular game drives, and I certainly didn’t realize how extraordinary it was to have one of the world’s great wildlife destinations so close by.
Yet, even without actively seeking it out, wildlife, and birds in particular always held a special place in my imagination. There was something about animals, their behavior, and especially the incredible variety of birds that quietly captured my attention.
It was only later, through photography, that I began to truly appreciate the natural world I had once taken for granted.
A camera changed the way I look at the world.
What started as an interest gradually became a passion for wildlife. Photography gave me a reason to slow down, observe, explore, and search for moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
Bird photography has become one of the most rewarding parts of that journey. Birds can be elusive, unpredictable, and incredibly difficult to photograph well. They have taught me patience, the willingness to stand still, wait, watch, and sometimes return again and again for that one perfect moment.
Today, I find myself drawn to places where nature takes center stage: wetlands, forests, mountains, coastlines, national parks, and open landscapes. Whether I’m searching for a particular bird or waiting for wildlife to emerge, I’m always looking for the story within the scene.
My photography has taken me far beyond where I started. From the landscapes and wildlife of Southern Africa to discovering the natural beauty of Germany and Europe, every journey gives me another opportunity to see something differently.
I also love the technical and cinematic side of photography. I enjoy experimenting with different focal lengths, light, composition, video, and storytelling, while continually learning how to get closer to the feeling of a moment.
But ultimately, photography for me isn’t about the camera or the gear.
It’s about discovery, discovering of places I once overlooked, seeing familiar things differently, and experiencing moments in nature that I might never have noticed without a camera.
In many ways, photography has allowed me to reconnect with something that was always there.
The wildlife and birds that I once had around me without fully appreciating them have become one of the greatest passions of my life.
This website is a collection of that journey, my encounters with wildlife, birds, landscapes, and the night sky, and the stories behind the images.
I hope that when you explore my work, you don’t just see a photograph.
I hope you feel like you were there.
